Forestry Climatic Division in Inner Mongolia Based on GIS

Based on the monthly meteorological data of 116 weather stations in Inner Mongolia during 1981-2010, the forestry climatic division was studied through three-dimensional spatial distribution of hydrothermal factor in Inner Mongolia. The results indicate that the precipitation appeared east-west zonal distribution, the temperature was significantly affected by the latitude and terrain, and the potential evaporation was more influenced by the combination of water and heat factors in Inner Mongolia. The suitable planting area of trees mainly distributed in most areas of northeastern Hulunbuir city, from the southern slope of Great Khingan to the northern foot of Yanshan mountains and Yinshan mountains in the central of Inner Mongolia, the desert mainly distributed in Alxa League, and their transitional zone was sub-suitable tree area, selective tree and shrub planting region, shrub and grassland coupled zone. The result of forestry climatic division was highly consistent with the covering of surface vegetation in Inner Mongolia, which indicated that the selection of division indexes to evaporation and precipitation was more reasonable, and it would be conducive to the plantation construction and ecological protection and restoration.
