Temporal and Spatial Variation of Temperature Inversion Characteristics of Lower Atmosphere During the Heating Period in Hebei

Abstract:

Based on the observational data from meteorological station and ERA-Interim reanalysis data, the temperature inversion characteristics of lower atmosphere duirng heating period (during November-March) in Hebei from 1981 to 2016 were analyzed. The temperature inversion was divided into ground and untouched ground inversion and they were analyzed from three aspects including inversion days, thickness and intensity. The results are as follows: (1) The ground inversion was the main type during the heating period, and both inversion days and thickness,intensity were lager at 02:00 BST and smaller at 14:00 BST, which may be correlated to radiation inversion. While the untouched ground inversion showed larger at 14:00 BST and smaller at 20:00 BST, which may be affected by the activities of weather system. (2) The spatial distributions of the inversion were influenced by the geographical position and the climate, which mainly showed the difference between the east and the west, such as that in the southeastern piedmont plain and the eastern coastal regions, the inversion days were more and the ground inversion thickness was larger and intensity was smaller . While the untouched ground inversion showed the opposite. (3) In the southeastern piedmont plain, the untouched ground inversion mainly showed an increasing trend and the ground inversion at 14:00 BST when the atmospheric pollution diffusion conditions were best also presented increasing trend. For the annual variation of inversion, the ground and untouched ground inversion showed larger increase at 14:00 BST and 20:00 BST, respectively. (4) The distribution and variation of the inversion in the southeastern piedmont plain would go against the vertical diffusion of pollutants.

摘要:

基于河北省站点实测资料和ERA-Interim再分析资料,从逆温日数、逆温厚度和逆温强度3个方面统计分析了1981—2016年河北省采暖期(当年11月至次年3月)低空大气逆温特征。结果表明:(1)逆温多以贴地逆温为主,且贴地逆温特征均存在02:00(北京时,下同)较大,14:00最小的日变化,这可能与其多为辐射逆温有关,而脱地逆温20:00较小,14:00较大,可能与其多受天气系统活动影响相联系。(2)逆温特征空间分布受地理位置和天气气候共同影响,整体多呈现出东西向差异,如东南部太行山山前平原和东部沿海地区的逆温日数均相对较多,贴地逆温厚度较大,强度较小,但脱地逆温厚度较小,强度较大。(3)东南部山前平原地区脱地逆温特征均呈增加趋势,且贴地逆温特征在日扩散条件最好的14:00均呈增加趋势,对于全省平均逆温特征的年际变化而言,贴地逆温14:00、脱地逆温20:00增幅相对较大。(4)逆温在东南部山前平原地区的分布状况及变幅,不利于污染物的垂直扩散。
