 from 15 to 16 August 2014 in Ningxia

摘要:

利用常规观测站和区域加密自动站逐时降水观测资料及ECMWF再分析等资料,对2014年8月15~16日发生在宁夏的强对流过程的螺旋度特征演变进行分析。结果表明:水平螺旋度对强对流发生有一定的预测能力,低层垂直螺旋度在对流发生后和影响系统的演变对应较好;强对流发生在高层负水平螺旋度中心或强梯度带和低层正水平螺旋度中心或强梯度带上;高层负水平螺旋度的变化对强对流活动的强弱变化有较好的指示作用,低层正水平螺旋度强梯度带和对流活动结束时间对应较好。

Abstract:

Based on the hourly precipitation from the conventional and automatic weather stations and ECMWF reanalysis data,the evolution characteristics of helicity during a severe convection weather occurring in Ningxia from 15 to 16 August 2014 were analyzed by using statistic analysis methods. The results showed that the horizontal helicity could predict the severe convection weather in some extent, while the vertical helicity in lower level corresponded better with the evolution of influence systems after the convection. The distribution of the vertical helicity showed that the strong convection area occurred in the center of negative horizontal helicity in upper level or its strong gradient area and the center of positive horizontal helicity or its strong gradient belt in lower level. The change of negative horizontal helicity in upper level could be a better indication of the intensity of convective activity. The strong gradient belt of positive horizontal helicity in lower level corresponded better  with the end of convective activity.
