Cause Analysis on a Severe Rainfall from 26 to 29 June 2012 in Ningxia

Abstract:

 Based on conventional meteorological observation data,mesoscale automatic weather station data,infrared cloud image of FY-2E satellite,Doppler radar data and ECMWF data with high resolution and so on,the continuous severe rainfall occurred in the north and south mountain of Ningxia from 26 to 29 June 2012 was more deeply and meticulously compared and analyzed by using the weather dynamic diagnosis focusing on the large - scale circulation feature,main synoptic system,physical quantity field,satellite cloud images and radar echo.The results showed that the continuous severe rainfall was generated by the interaction of the low - level jet pushing northward,the westerly trough and low vortex shear over Ningxia due to the west Pacific subtropical high strengthening and stretching northward during the moving toward the northwest of Dusurui typhoon.The starting and ending time of the severe rainfall and its drop area well corresponded with the weather systems on the 700 hPa. The heavy rainfall occurred in the right side of 700 hPa shear line and the left side of the 700 hPa southerly winds. Meanwhile,the continuous heavy rainfall area appeared in the overlap zone of low level moisture convergence,low - level convergence and high -level divergence,continuous ascending motion,cloud region with-48 ℃ <TBB <  –20 ℃ and echo intensity with 25 -45 dBZ. The central values of key physical quantities within the overlap region were higher,the rain intensity was stronger,and the maximum rainfall intensity and the overlap of large value centers of these physical quantities tended to occur simultaneously.

摘要:

利用常规资料及中尺度区域自动站观测资料FY-2E红外卫星云图多普勒雷达ECMWF等资料,对2012年6月26~29日宁夏北部和南部山区持续强降水过程作了较深入细致的天气动力学对比分析。得出:强降雨起止时间及落区出现在700 hPa切变线右侧与700 hPa南风风速辐合区左侧的区域内,同时宁夏持续强降雨落区出现在低层水汽辐合、低层正涡度辐合及高层负涡度辐散、持续上升运动区、-48 ℃<TBB<-20 ℃云团区和回波强度为25~45 dBZ的重叠区内;重叠区内关键物理量中心值越大,雨强越强,雨强最强时段往往是关键物理量大值中心叠加的时段。
